CHORIZO TACOS

INGREDIENTS

  • For the filling:

    • 1 package of TORTILLAS TAQUERAS MI FAMILIA

    • 1 pound (450g) chorizo sausage, removed from casings

    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    • 1 small onion, finely chopped

    • 2 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

    • 1 teaspoon paprika

    • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

    • Salt and pepper to taste

  • For the tacos:

    • 1 package of TORTILLAS CASERAS MI FAMILIA

    • Cooked shredded chicken or your choice of protein

    • Chopped fresh cilantro

    • Red onions cut in julienne

HOW TO COOK

1.    Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat.

2.    Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until they become translucent and fragrant.

3.    Crumble the chorizo sausage into the pan and cook it, stirring occasionally, until it is browned and cooked through.

4.    Sprinkle the ground cumin, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper over the cooked chorizo. Stir well to incorporate the spices evenly. Cook for another minute to allow the flavors to meld together. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

5.    While the chorizo is cooking, warm your tortillas. You can do this by placing them on a dry, hot comal for a few seconds on each side until they become pliable. Alternatively, you can wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave them for about 30 seconds.

HOW TO SERVE

1.    To assemble the tacos, spoon a generous amount of the cooked chorizo onto each tortilla. Top with chopped fresh cilantro, sliced onions, and a squeeze of lime juice. Serve with your favorite salsa on the side.

¡Provecho!
